Reflections

1. What are your favorite tools you now have in your personal technology toolbox? Briefly describe a particular activity that you will plan for your students using at least one of these new tools. I liked using the animoto for making video with pics and I could see myself using this tool. I also think the Google Doc would be something that would be helpful as a teacher.
2. How have you transformed your thinking about the learning that will take place in your classroom? I supposed I am capable of more tech stuff than I previously thought.
3. Were there any unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you? I can't believe I finished everything...this took a long time for me to finish. I think we should receive more credit hours for this course.

Tool 11

Discuss at least three things you would want to make sure your students understand about being good digital citizens. Explain briefly how you would "teach" the idea of digital citizenship to your students.
1. Digital Literacy - students need to know what technology is, how to use it, and to know that it is readily available for them.

2. Digital Security and Safety: students need to understand the importance of safety and apply it as they use computers and other technology.

3. Digital Health and Wellness - students must have a limit on how much time them spend using technology.

Digital citizenship will be taught like I teach rules and procedures- practice it over and over.

Tool 10

1. Discuss some of the free educational apps you reviewed.

I checked out "ABC Phonics Animals Free Lite -Talking & Spelling Alphabet Flashcards." It's an interactive way of using flashcards and pictures to help children learn spelling, letters and sounds.

I also looked at "ABA Flash Cards - Alphabet By Kindergarten.com."

2. Discuss ways your students could use the iTouch or iPad and appropriate apps in your class.
These tools can be used for great resources in the classroom. They can be used in small and whole group, in literacy and math stations, and even for research projects.

Tool 9

Discuss how the screencast could help your students and how you might have students use Jing.
Jing is a good tool for young learners because it allows you to add visuals.

2. Discuss how you might use Skype with your students and share across the district, the state, the nation, or the world!
I would like to use it to get in touch with another Kinder class and maybe we could be "Skype Penpals." I would think Skype could be used for parent conferences, tutoring, professional development, presentations, research projects, and so much more!

Tool #7

Creating this video was very time consuming, confusing and frustrated me. I don't even know if it will play, because it has to be an mp4 file, and I have had difficulty trying to do that. I cannot spend any more time on this and have to move on.

Tool 8: Parts Of A Plant We Can Eat

tool 6

Wikis will be useful in coordinating events with team or school. I suppose we could use them to share ideas or make lists with other classrooms.
